Virtual Interview Tips
Here are my 5 top tips for a Virtual Interview:

1. Test out your zoom with a friend before the interview!!
– Make sure your connection is strong (you don’t want your WiFi to accidentally disconnect mid-session!)
– How does the audio sound? Can you hear any outside/background noise?
– Scope out the place in your home with the best lighting
– Make sure there is nothing distracting behind you in the video. You want the interview committee to focus on YOU
2. Still dress professional!! (at least from the top up)
– Just because it is virtual does not mean it is informal – dress as if you had the interview in person
– Elevate your laptop so it is at eye level (stack it on books if you have to)
– Pro tip: move the Zoom window to the top of the screen right under the camera, so it feels more natural to look at the camera so it appears you are making eye contact with everyone
4. Connect to the actual interview about 15min early – be prepared!
5. Breathe, blink, and slow down, you’ve got this!
