Hi! I will be attending this and would love to meet up with anyone who will also be going! 🙂
-
I would love to go to this! Is it better to go to this or the Mid-Year Assembly?

@hhoppe156d4192c so I think it depends on a few things (they’re both good btw).
1. Are your programs in the DMV area? The MYA is always in D.C. and is a big lobbying event, more than likely you’ll connect with people who are near D.C. (although people from around the country do attend, I would say that more SRNAs/Faculty/CRNAs will attend MYA)
2. If you are applying to multiple programs in different geographical areas, the Annual Congress is a good options because everyone from around the country will be there, meaning, you can hit multiple birds with one stone so to speak>Lastly, if you are only applying to say, a few programs in one geographical area, then I would definitely just recommend attending your State’s AANA meeting. For example, if you’re banking on Alabama schools, going to an Alabama-specific event means a more intimate, higher likelihood scenario of you networking with Alabama peeps. It’s not guaranteed that Alabama faculty will be at either of the national events, but they’ll likely be at the State event.
Sooooo, long way of saying, are you schools scattered across the country (Annual Congress), or are they in one state (go to a state meeting)…or do you live in the DMV area and want to stay there or it’s more affordable for you to attend the MYA (then do that). Hope this makes sense!

@thecrnaclub that does make sense! I am looking at schools all over the country but my top schools are close to home, West Virginia. So, DC and Nashville are both within driving distance and I do plan to attend my state’s meeting.
Would there be any benefit in going to AACN NTI this year instead of MYA? I don’t think the networking will be quite the same, but the learning aspect might be worth it?

Hi everyone, I’m Jasmine! I am also planning on attending the Annual Congress, but unfortunately I will miss the weekend portion and can only attend Monday-Wednesday (11th-13th) because I work every weekend. Will anyone still be there during the week? I am hoping to connect with others!
-
@JASMINE MATTHEWS for sure we’ll be there! College Bowl is Tuesday night, Rhea and I are hosting, definitely come to that!

Hi! I plan to attend the Annual Congress as well. I would be glad to meet up with other RNs attending.
-
I would love to meet up, I’ll be there the whole time, let me know what works for you! Not sure if you’re organizing a CRNA Club meetup? We could try for breakfast Monday morning? or lunch or dinner whenever you have time. I know you’re super busy at this event!

Would any of the females attending be interested in sharing a room for Annual Congress? It’s a way to meet new people and save money! And, I don’t know about all of you, but I am all for saving some $$$.
-
I will also be attending! I am super excited to see what its all about and to meet all of you! 🙂

Yay! so fun! Make sure you register for the events I posted if you’re interested!

Hey,
Just out of curiosity, when you pay for the conference; Assuming you paid for the full week are all the “additional activities” included with that rate? I’m quite confused. Can someone do a breakdown? I only intend to attend 1 day due to my work schedule so how does this work?
Thanks-
Hi Alex! So your AANA ticket is *only* to attend the conference. When you go to register, it will show you which activities are additional cost. For example, the difficult airway simulation lab for RRNAs is an extra cost. They do a good job of listing which ones require additional registration. Since I already registered, I can’t see them, but hopefully this gives you a little insight on how to see which activities are an additional cost *on top of* your ticket registration. You can also download the ‘AANA Meetings’ app and it shows you which talks are going on each day and at what time – I’m not sure if you can see this before you register for the conference though. Hope this helps! 🙂

I’m going! I’d love to share lodging if there’s anyone who hasn’t booked theirs yet?

An AANA Annual Conference hack for everyone! Look up the popular CRNA groups on Instagram – Krewe and Medicus come to mind. A lot of these groups host free Happy Hours at restaurants in the evenings following the conference days! They typically include drink tickets and small bites to eat. They’re an excellent way to network! Many of them require RSVP, so make sure to check them out ASAP. Hope to see some of you there! 🙂

This is a great idea! I wasn’t sure if those events were more recruiting for CRNAs so wasn’t sure if I should show up. Haven’t even gotten into school yet…
-
@lindsayRN I just posted 2 events to RSVP to in the Annual Congress Group! The Medicus one Ashley mentioned is there as well. You’re 100% welcome! Lots of RNs show up.
Tuesday night is the College Bowl, Rhea and I are hosting! That will be FULL of SRNAs.
